Really so happy to hear that Soweto Marathon is back on the cards this year, 2 November! When I started running last year this was the one race I wanted to enter. But over the years it seemed to have lost its way and a few people said it wasn’t the same as the old days – last year they just didn’t manage to get it up and running. With big names like Nike on board, I think this year will be EPIC!
Details are below:
You can enter online here.
Or enter at one of these stores:
- Orlando Community Centre
- Nike The Zone Rosebank
- Nike Sandton City
- The Sweat Shop (Dunkeld West Shopping Centre, Fourways Crossing, Bedford Arcade – Bedfordview, Southdowns Shopping Centre – Pretoria Run A Way Store – Freesia Street, Lynwood Ridge, Pretoria)
Prices for Entry are: R170 for the marathon, R130 for the half marathon and R110 for the 10km
This doesn’t include ASA license (but you can pay for a temp one unless you are wanting to do the 42.2Km you will need an ASA license).
You can also order a Nike Dri-Fit Limited Promo Shirt at an extra R299. I couldn’t say no to this limited edition shirt – it looks so cool – its Lumo Green (hello, did I mention I love bright colours)!!!
Plus Nike have said they are doing this race instead of the We Run Jozi race this year, so if you are a fan of this running series like me, this race is it!
Another cool reason to join in is the Nike Soweto Marathon supports the Lukholweni Cancer Care Home in Soweto, Johannesburg.
